Meteorites have been crashing landing on all parts of Earth, the unsuspecting rocks a smooth purple in color, measuring anywhere from a few inches across to a foot. Nobody seems to have any explanation for what they are or how they got to Earth in the first place, seemingly appearing overnight, but before the proper research could be conducted things went from strange to very, very bad. Within twelve hours of landing the "meteorites" began to crack and break apparent, revealing a strange, purple gooey substance inside that immediately attaches itself to the nearest living life form. Once it makes contact with someone's skin, it rapidly begins to cover the hosts body with its entirety and from what people can gather it takes over their mind. Without a host they are perfectly harmless, but with one they are proving to be quite dangerous. These "Symbiotes", as people are calling them, seem to possess several distinct powers of their own, being pliable and able to form and solidify their own weapons at will. Once attached, the Symbiote immediately attacks anything and anyone near it, though it appears less likely to attack its own brethren and anyone they are currently possessing. So far the only known way to get a Symbiote to release its host is killing the host themselves, in which case it will detach itself and move on to someone else. So far nothing has seemed effective against the creatures, and there is currently no known way to kill them. Currently places all over the world are being over run with these strange alien creatures, and the heroes are working over time to try and keep everyone safe, but without knowing how to stop these things it is proving to be a challenge. Some places are taking harder hits than others, Central City being one of them. Within a few days a massive number of people became infected, and it has been quarantined for the time being. No one is allowed in or out, not even the Justice League, and the Army has orders to shoot at will if anyone tries. Star City is also taking some hard hits, and is on the fast track to Central's fate if something isn't done quickly. by rimy ♥ of btn! |
