Only this time her dad wasn't around to build her a spaceship so she could get to safety, there was no escape route, nor anyone that was going to come and save her. Central City had been quarantined and anything or anyone caught leaving was supposed to be shot on sight...of course, it would be kind of hard to keep Kara Zor-El, Last Daughter of Krypton trapped. The last thing she or anyone else needed was tension between the heroes and the humans on top of what was already happening, though. Besides, someone needed to stay in Central and try to maintain was little control their was left to be had.
Though, everywhere the blonde looked there was chaos, and it seemed everyone was infected. The few that weren't must have gone into hiding, so it was just her and Wally left. No communication, no power, the zeta tubes were down, and everything seemed to be spiraling out of control. The only solace she had was knowing that Wally's parents were out of Central before this all happened and she was fairly certain her cousin was somewhere safe. The thought of Wally being trapped did not please her, but she would be lying if she did not admit she was relieved to have him around. The blonde wasn't really sure if she would have made it this long by herself.
"You know, I'm starting to hate the color purple," she chimed, managing to keep tempo with Wally's enhanced speed, though she was in the air, her makeshift cape fluttering behind her. Wally had already made jeers about her lack of mask several times, and while originally she had retaliated with jokes back, it was starting to devolve into shut up before I break your jaw already. Sure, not being alone was great, but being stuck with the redhead for so long could wear down her nerves, especially without a mediator like his mother or father to keep them from murdering each other.
They were currently doing another "patrol", hoping to find any survivors that may have made it. Unlikely, but at least it was something, and they could always pick up some food as well. Kara was tired of Wally leaving without her to do that kind of thing, it worried her sick, not that she would admit it out loud. She mostly just complained about the food he brought back to mask it.
Before she could continue with her train of thought on her new and sudden loathing of the color purple, her sensitive ear picked up a noise. Heavy feet crunching under glass, a deep growling, and finally a panicked, high pitched hissing. Without giving the redhead any warning, she broke off from him, doing exactly what she hated him doing so much, and heading straight toward the disturbance. She could make out a small store, the top of it read "MAR ET SORE" though many of the letters had fallen off, the front of the store practically torn apart, the door ripped out and the glass window shattered.
Cages had been bent and ripped open inside, and a few straggling Symbiotes were currently sniffing around it. She zoomed past two of them, their heads raising at the sudden rush of air, and her lithe form slammed hard into a third one. It was enough force to knock it into the opposite wall, and away from the puffed up cowering ball of orange fur. "Hey, shhh, it's okay," she cooed to the creature, who was wide-eyed and frightened.

This was all starting to give him a case of Deja vu, except it had been lasting for the last couple of months. Empty houses, no one in sight, except this time there was no children or parents around. Actually, there was a barrier of men in military gear and armored cars guarding the roads out, a few of them far too trigger happy. No matter where he was, inside or outside of Central, there was no safe haven. Sure, Central was bad, but so was the rest of the world, his city just happened to be on the worse end of the puke bucket. Wally was thankful that nearly everyone that he cared for was outside where it was marginally safer. He didn't know where his parents were, maybe in Blue Valley? Then there was Flash, Wally knew that the Scarlet Speedster was in the clear. When he first checked Jay and Joan's house, it was empty, so had to believe that they made it out.
If he had to be completely honest, he blamed himself for getting Kara and himself trapped. The Zetatubes in Central were already shut down by the League by the time he and Supette arrived. Though, there was part of him that was blaming the League as well. They hadn't heard anything from any of them and if there was one person who could figure out a way, it would be the Dark Knight himself. They probably think we've already been infected he thought sourly, keeping pace with Kara who was flying over head. "Same and I thought I couldn't hate Barney anymore than I already did too." It was too bad Wally hadn't signed Kara up for a sewing class before all of this started. Maybe then she'd have a decent costume rather than looking like some five year old running around playing Superhero with a sheet tied around their neck.
"Did you want to check out Mounds View before heading back in and I am talking to myself." And Kara wondered why he left her behind nearly every day? "Like a freakin' puppy." Wally understood the whole "new to Earth" deal, but if she wandered away because she saw something shiny was going to suffocate her with a pillow...even if Kyrptonians didn't need to breathe. So, maybe being around the same person 24/7 for the last two months was starting to have its effect. Wally had his days where all he wanted to do was tell the Super to fly out of Central and leave him be. But, he had self control, a little bit at least.
Making a U-turn, Wally doubled back to find Kara, looking for any sign of blue or red, not really purple. But there in front of the massacred store were infected. I wonder what the chances are that she's not...what the hell is she doing spotting the familiar red cape. "Kara!" he shouted before barreling himself into one of the symbiotes, sending it crashing into a wall of shelves. "What are you doing?" he demanded, picking up the closest cage and swinging it into the head of the other infected, momentarily stunning it.
Then he spotted it, the orange furry thing that she was apparently trying to comfort, "Is that a cat? Seriously?" He should add that she couldn't keep it, he didn't need to have another Super that took in strays. A moan came from the first symbiote he had sent crashing into the wall, "Shut up." he snapped bringing down the wire cage onto its head.
"Just grab it and let's get out of here before more arrive." he instructed, turning towards the exit. "I hate you." he grumbled, half a dozen more infected had gathered at the store's front.
